The thunder of 100,000
Harley Davidson motorcycles will be heard all across Milwaukee in celebration of their 105th anniversary. The Summerfest grounds will be alive with music from for two days. Bruce Springsteen will perform at the Roadhouse at the Lakefront. This event is sure to top the 100th anniversary celebration. That was a great time, but it ended with a major flop. Elton John is a nice guy, but not someone you would expect to headline a motorcycle festival. Also performing for this massive party are: Foo Fighters, Big Head Todd, Los Lonely Boys, Foghat, ZZ Top, Dr. John, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Black Crowes, Gary Allan, War, Peter Frampton, Joan Jett, Blind Melon, Dierks Bentley, Puddle of Mudd, Buddy Guy, Daughtry, Blue Oyster Cult, and Cameo.
Party on the Summerfest grounds, party at the Roadhouse, party in the streets of Milwaukee.
Do not be confused with this event and Summerfest.
Summerfest tickets won’t get you into this party, even though it sounds like a second Summerfest event. The crowds will be massive all across the city, so you might find yourself having fun just about anywhere you go. This is a proud moment for Milwaukee. Let’s hope that the weather cooperates.
I remember the 100th was quite fun. Brady Street was blocked off, along with other locations across the city. Hotel rooms will be booked months in advance. On top of that, the
Green Bay Packers fans will be just 120 miles to the north of Milwaukee, checking out the last pre-season game. Wisconsin will be alive that weekend, and I’m sure to be a part of the celebrations. Remember loud pipes save lives, keep your eyes and ears open, give the Harley riders a break, and try to have some fun if you find yourself stuck in a motorcycle traffic jam. It’s only for one weekend, it comes every five years, and this one is going to be huge.
I have two neighbors that own Harleys. I expect to see them polishing their iron horses and representing my neighborhood.
